Learning to let it go. Notes on early recovery.

Humm and Strumm searching for a higher power.

I want to be a member of the one and only union
The one that dates back to the first communion
Keep your teamster’s sense of security

One time I shared with my spiritual
advisor. I said I was worried about the
future and I “projected” too much; thinking I
knew the outcome or what was going to
happen. He said, “God just sprinkles a little
bit of the future on us each day. Just
enough to get us through today.”

I used to meet with Father Tim for an hour
once a week. He was my spiritual advisor.
One of them. We cam to the conclusion
for an alcoholic … “Black Outs” don’t count.
We can’t include something in our 4th and 5th
step if we don’t know what it was. This
put my mind at ease. This does not mean Go
out and have more black outs. They are a
    Done deal. (P.S.) I just hope I don’t
remember any. Then I will have to write
it down, share it with a human (sponsor,
spiritual advisor, etc.) and ask God to “take it
    away.”
