Playin’ cards for cigarettes, the winner loses
Playin’ hard with no regrets, the loser chooses
Takin’ slugs from fancy mugs … wasted precious time
So what? I had fun. “Brother, can you spare a dime?”
Ain’t got time to beat a dead snake
But, I got today, I’m tired but I’m awake.

The Manager
For a long time, I never tried to manage my life. Then when I tried to manage it, it became unmanageable. The only way I can really be content (even happy) is to “give my will and my life over to the care of God as I understand him.” Do I understand? Thank-You Lord for taking over where I leave off.

My Daily Meds: January 28
I refer to my old life as the Dark Days.
a life of chaos, confusion, even insanity.Today, sometime later, I have new memories.
Sober memories.Even on days when the sun doesn’t shine brightly, gray days, I know I need not be depressed. “There are treasures that come out of the darkness.” From the Book Of Wisdom. If you haven’t guessed, I call the Bible, the Book Of Wisdom.
We can enjoy even dark days today. Thank you, Master, I know you are with me even in the dark.
