I’ve been where I thought that I was “self made”
Now, it’s the fear of God makes me afraid
Without Him, I’m nothing … none but a fake
Yes, He has the power to give or take

I’ve seen too many people … think they are wise
The day will come when they open their eyes
They will know then … God is not money
Look at themselves and know that it’s not funny
A scratch on my car, oh, God, what a crime
Buy a poor man lunch? No, not a dime

I’ve seen my life under a microscope
When my spirit was busted, God gave me hope
I’ve been lusty, greedy, a glutton for sure
My pride was taken … Christ is the cure
I’ve searched for truth … inside and out
God is the only one … whose got any clout
