I’m not impressed by “Big Weddings.” Recently, I was in a wedding party. The bride wanted a “big wedding.” She got it. They actually ran out of food, though. Even before that, I was not really impressed. One time I was at a very large wedding, where the bride’s father rented 2 (two) floors of a nice hotel so that us folk could have a nice place to recline. He hired the bartender to come back to the house (or, mansion) it was beautiful. I was impressed. I was drunk. I was young. Now, I look back and wonder if they can say the same thing as me. My wedding did not set me (us) back at all. I didn’t have to borrow a cent. That’s impressive. My wife and I got married by the “town clerk” on her lunch break. My brother and Uncle Charlie witnessed the great event. We went to Florida for our honeymoon and never LOOKED back.

    Dear Jesus

To me my lord, It’s in my mind
How can I leave it all behind?
I’ll worry about it … Though it’s not real
How terrible it must have made You feel
    They lied, they beat You
    This is true
    You still loved them
    Though black and blue

Do I know what it is like to want?

I do. for 32 years I wanted a motorcycle. I believe my Higher Power kept me off it during most of my drinkin’ years. I had a hard enough time keepin’ four wheels on the road. My wife kept me off it the rest of the time. Finally, the kids were grown and it was time to get one. It all fell into place. If it ain’t smooth, it ain’t God’s will. there were a few attempts at getting one earlier but I believe my Higher Power intervened. I know what it’s like to want something. Not need one, but want. Now I have it, I want it, but also, I need it. this day and age, the price of fuel. 54 miles to the gallon I get. Thank-You God.
